Stealthscapes
A documentary about Transformations in Urban Public Space
(Video Documentation; work-in-progress)

A documentary about stealth encroachments on public open space in Mumbai.

In this video, I interrogate the concept of `encroachment' by observing different forms of stealth occupancy of public space.

From the building and renovation of unauthorized temples at Shivaji Park to the construction of offices, clubhouses, gymnasia and toilets on reserved public open space in Mahim and South Mumbai; to an analysis of very different forms of public space occupancy - the presence of hawkers and street vendors in Dadar, to a study of the rapid inhabitation and settlement of the Nehrunagar slum in Vile Parle West.
